tools for apache cordova (taco)

LOGO, ILLUSTRATION

Phase 1: Rough sketches

Apache Cordova is an open source tool for targeting multiple platforms with one code base. This was for a Microsoft team who made Tools for Apache Cordova. Shown here are my rough sketches turned into vector based on the client's request: A robot, maybe a robot or shield with wings.

Phase 2: Refining the winner

I cleaned up the design and presented several color schemes to choose from. They were looking for a retro feel and went with the green and orange color scheme.

Logo as Mascot

Eventually the team was ready to start using the mark, but wanted to use the full version of the robot as a mascot, and create a smaller more scalable mark as the official logo.
We tried different, flatter approaches, and simplified versions of the mascot.

New Hero Illustration

The original hero illustration I was provided with was decided against, so I started a new one with the idea of old logo as mascot. These incorporate some of the patterns I came up with while designing the original Tacobot.

 Merchandise

I designed some visuals that would work either as stickers or the front of a t-shirt, trying both the full size mascot and some of the round small logo proposals.

Finals

As this job evolved the stakeholders shuffled and a there was a preference for a more minimalist, less funky/retro approach. Shown here is the final logo on a t-shirt and the final website
